The most decorated female gymnast in history jetted off to her adopted Central American country of Belize for Thanksgiving with her boyfriend, former gymnast Stacey Erin Jr., and some family and friends in tow.
Biles, one of the most decorated gymnasts in the world with more than 25 championship medals, is of of indirect Belizean heritage and retains dual Belizean / U.S.A. citizenship. Born in the U.S.A. to U.S.A. nationals, Biles was adopted by a couple residing in the U.S.A. Her adoptive mother is a dual Belize / U.S.A. national. She was taking a break from her rigorous training routine before representing the U.S. at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Biles was vacationing with her boyfriend, NXT wrestler Stacy Ervin, Jr., and the two sent a series of romantic photos while strolling the stunning beaches of Belize. Fans swooned over one picture of the happy couple that Ervin posted with the caption, “I Belize in a thing called love.”
As we all know, it’s easy to fall in love when you’re in Belize. Ervin and Biles soaked up the sunshine and spent a few days in tropical bliss before heading back to their training schedules in the U.S.
Biles, 22, and Ervin Jr., 25, weren’t shy about packing on the PDA during the trip — and then sharing photos for their nearly 4 million combined Instagram followers to see.
The photos themselves are all medal-worthy, but Biles’s elegant wordplay in her captions make the posts even better.
“I can’t Belize you’re mine,” she captioned a shot of her atop Ervin Jr.’s shoulders.
Ervin shared on Instagram: To say I am grateful for you would be an understatement.
Spending the past week together in a tropical paradise was absolutely amazing. Truth be told, anywhere together is our paradise – even in the cold (although you hate the cold, & would probably say you want to leave ASAP while attempting to fit inside my jacket with me).
I love you, and know I’ve got your back
